Cosmetic Acupuncture

People often choose to have acupuncture as a way of improving their general health and wellbeing or because they feel unwell, and they have not been provided with a conventional western diagnosis. However, it can also be used as a cosmetic treatment to reduce the signs of ageing and in more recent times has become a popular and natural alternative to BOTOX®.

Acupuncture Treatment

Cosmetic acupuncture works by improving blood supply to the skin, boosting collagen, and tightening muscles of the face. This leads to a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, enhances skin tone and the overall radiance of your skin.

During the treatment needles will be inserted into the face. The focus will be on areas that are prone to ageing including the jowls, cheek area, between the brows, as well as any other fine lines or wrinkles. As this is a holistic treatment, needles will also be inserted into the body that have the benefit of calming the mind and improving the flow of Qi and Blood which will allow you to not only look good, but also feel good.  Some of these points will be chosen based on you as an individual and any underlying health conditions that you have.

You also have the option of including Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) which is a non-invasive light source treatment that promotes the healing and repair of tissues into your treatment.

The device used is a Celluma Pro which is FDA approved and CE certified. This means that it is cleared for medical use to accelerate tissue repair, reduce pain and inflammation and to benefit skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, or ageing. Whether to include this in your treatment can be discussed at the initial consultation or click here for more information.

Optimum results of cosmetic acupuncture are achieved after a course of 10 weekly treatments although you should notice a difference early on. If you would like more information, please give me a call 07941 567053
